Fleet platforms are bought on duty cycle, not on top speed. A delivery machine may run eight to twelve hours a day and charge nightly, which loads the battery and controller far harder than private use does. Reinforced controllers and battery capacity up to 45Ah exist for that reason, and specifying a lighter unit to save cost usually surfaces as warranty claims within the first year.

The comparison your customer is really making is against petrol, and it is won on running cost rather than purchase price. Electricity per kilometre, the absence of oil changes, and fewer moving parts are where the gap opens — but the case depends on local electricity and fuel prices, so it has to be built with your own market's numbers.

Spare parts availability deserves more weight here than in any other category. A fleet unit off the road is lost revenue for your customer every day, so agree the parts package as part of the order rather than after the first breakdown.
